Quake Live is playable online in a web browser Quake 3 (and Team Arena). Since August 18, 2009, a version of Linux (and Mac) is available and it works in Firefox. The installation goes as easily as on Windows, thanks to a simple plugin for Firefox.
To play Quake Live Linux (tested here on Ubuntu 9.04), requires:
launch Firefox and create an account on the site Quake Live
once logged in, click Play Now
and authorize the installation of the plugin Quake Live
- Firefox must be restarted after a
- short period of downloading, click Play Online or
- Practice.
- For newcomers, a workout will determine the level of play (and download in the background of other data).
- During the game, it is possible to change the options (press Esc ), to reconfigure the buttons and switch to full screen. Fluidity is always at the rendezvous, and the Linux version is identical to its counterpart in Windows performance. Good frag!
