Pastie, a clipboard manager that supports Indicator applet

Pastie is a clipboard manager that resides in the notification applet (Indicator Applet) d Ubuntu. Pastie course solves an old bug in Linux, which is losing the memory clipboard when copying an element from an application that has been closed.

Update2 (07/07/2010) : version 0.5 Pastie manages the images and any type of file (version 0.5-pre in . Deb file here )

MAJ (25/06/2010) : to manage the images in the clipboard, choose Parcellite .

Installing

Pastie Pastie To install Ubuntu (10.04), just open a terminal (Applications menu > Accessories> Terminal ), and type the following line:

sudo apt-add-ppa repository: hel-sheep/pastie & & sudo apt-get update

Then click here to install Pastie, or type:

sudo apt-get install pastie

Using

Pastie Pastie To start, go to the menu Applications> Accessories> Pastie . To start the program at each startup, go to the menu System> Preferences> Startup Applications , click Add and add the command pastie.

There is also a monochrome icon (the one Parcelite) following the style icons of Indicator applet. It is available here (7zip needed), clear (ubuntu-mono-light) or dark.

To install, press Alt + F2 and type for example the command: gksudo nautilus / usr/share/icons/ubuntu-mono-light/status/24 , then move the in the open folder icon (by renaming it gtk-paste.svg ). Finally

refresh the icon cache by typing in a terminal: sudo gtk -update-icon-cache-f / usr / share / icons / ubuntu-mono-light

MAJ (25/06/2010): Installing and using Parcellite

Parcellite To install, click here (requires Universe repository). To start Parcellite, go to the menu Applications> Accessories> Parcellite .

Normally Parcellite will be launched at startup. If this is not the case, go to the menu System> Preferences> Applications Start , click Add and add the command parcellite .

To change the icon, see the procedure above (same Pastie and Parcellite).
